. Gram was the name the network's founders gave the token in the original TON White Paper, and it's never left the codebase.
That is why Telegram is proposing to rename
Native Token Rename: Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM)

on TON Vote has concluded. With

voting in favor, the native token of The Open Network is being renamed from Toncoin to Gram, with the ticker changing from TON to GRAM.
